5 Reasons You Can Have Peace in Coronavirus Chaos

When the world around us is in total fear and chaos is the time we, as believers, should look and actually be the most different from the world.

We can shine the light of God’s peace and love into the chaos.

Just some of the reasons you can have peace are because God said:

  1. He will keep you in perfect peaceThou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee (Isa. 26:3).  When you keep your mind focused on God, you can have perfect peace—no matter what’s happening around you.

  1. He will deliver you. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence” (Psa. 91:3). It says ‘surely.’ That means you can count on it! The NIV and Amplified Bibles translate ‘noisome pestilence’ as ‘deadly pestilence,’ which includes the coronavirus!

  1. He will protect you. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust” (Psa. 91:4). This assures us that just as a mother hen gathers her chicks under her wings to protect them from all harm, God is always with us and protects us in the same way.

  1. We need not fear. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday” (Psa. 91:5-6). The coronavirus has been called an invisible enemy because you can’t tell who has it and who doesn’t. But God has told us here that we don’t have to be afraid of it whether we can’t see it in darkness or we can see it at noon!

  1. It won’t come near you. “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee (Psa. 91:7). Just let that sink in….

Romans 3:4 says, “Let God be true and every man a liar.” We need to get to the place where God’s Word is absolute truth—over anything and anyone else.

One of the times the black plague spread across Europe, approximately 95% of everyone who contracted it died. In the US, the Coronavirus death rate is 1.3%. During the black plague in Europe, there was a pastor who stood at the entrance to his village and stood on Psalms 91:10 and no one got sick nor died in his village.

This is exactly what these scriptures are promising!

God has extended these promises to all, but not everyone is seeing them manifest. Probably the vast majority of people—even Christians—are living in fear.

If we walk daily with the Lord (abide in His shadow) and say He is our strength and our refuge, then we can have total peace!
