Online Student Standard of Conduct

As an Online student at Charis Bible College:

  • I accept that the Holy Spirit is continuing the work He started at Pentecost empowering me to live a godly life and continue in all the works of Jesus.
  • I accept that all Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correction, and training in righteousness.
  • I believe that grace gives me the power to overcome sin, not indulge in it.
  • I accept the responsibility of representing the Kingdom of God and Charis Bible College with integrity and honesty by being a positive Christian role model in judgment, dignity, respect, and Christian living. I acknowledge that this includes, but is not limited to, abstaining from such activities as the abuse of alcohol, use of illicit drugs, the consumption of pornography, abstaining from all sexual activity outside of biblical marriage, lying, and deceptive behavior.
  • I believe that life begins at conception and must be protected. I believe that marriage is a permanent and exclusive consecrated union between one man and one woman established by God, and intrinsically ordained towards procreation. I further believe that the sexual act outside of this marital bond is prohibited as sinful.
  • I believe that God created humankind in His image, male and female, biologically and sexually different but with equal personal dignity. I, therefore, view any rejection of one’s biological sex and any attempt to physically change, alter or deny one’s biological sex from conception as forbidden by God’s Word and His creation order.
  • I accept that all people are created equally in God’s image. Any behavior contrary to this view including, but not limited to, racism, causing physical harm or bullying, or sexual harassment or assault will not be tolerated.
  • I understand that faithfulness and integrity are important for success as a student at Charis Bible College. Therefore, I will listen to all the lessons in their entirety, complete assignments, and adhere to the instructions for taking the exam in my courses. I understand that the course will not be considered complete if I do not adhere to these requirements.

Charis Bible College strongly encourages me to limit my contact with other online users to the communication channels provided within the Charis Bible College Online Campus system. Charis Bible College is not responsible for any consequences that may result from contact with other users outside this system.

Living at High Altitude Tips

  1. Slowly acclimate. Try to stay below 7,000 feet the first day
  2. Give your body time to adjust. Avoid strenuous exercise the first day.
  3. Limit alcohol intake. Alcohol binds oxygen and water and robs your body of these two important nutrients. It also slows the acclimation process.
  4. Drink more water. Keep to a minimum of 1 liter of water for every 4 hours of inactivity and 1 liter of water for every 2 hours of activity.
  5. Always travel with a companion. If someone begins to experience severe coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, or chest pain, get him or her to a lower altitude as quickly as possible.
  6. Check with a medical advisor. The effects of some drugs can be greatly increased at higher altitudes. Be sure to check with your doctor before exerting yourself at higher altitudes.

People will acclimatize at different rates. Make sure all members of your family are properly acclimated before going higher.

If you have any breathing difficulties if may be best for you to live in Colorado Springs and come up to school for the 4-5 hours a day and then return to Colorado Springs

In Colorado Springs you may be able to bicycle to the store or walk to nearby restaurants, but in order to get to Woodland Park and once in Woodland Park, public transportation is virtually non-existent. Biking/walking is not feasible for transportation to school in most situations due to mountainous terrain and wintery weather; it can snow as early as September and as late as May. Vehicle registration and insurance is required in Colorado, as well as double license plates
