Andrew Wommack started Charis Bible College in 1994 with a vision to prepare men and women for ministry with a unique blend of the teaching of God’s Word and practical “on-the-job” training. As a teacher, he brings the simplicity of the Word of God and the revelation of grace into every classroom. Sharing from his decades of study in Scripture, Andrew is able to teach the Word in a powerful and practical way. His classes include A Sure Foundation, Basics of Righteousness, Relationship with God, The Making of a Minister, and more. Students can expect to receive the truth of the Word from someone who has lived out everything he teaches. Andrew is also the president and founder of Andrew Wommack Ministries, a teaching ministry that emphasizes God’s unconditional love and grace. Andrew and his wife, Jamie, have been married for nearly fifty years.

As co-founder, Jamie Wommack assisted Andrew in establishing Charis Bible College. She continues to be involved in the college, traveling to conferences and ministering through music at Charis events. Her unique gifting touches the hearts of people with anointed and worshipful song directed to the Lord. In December of 2014, Jamie made her stage debut in the Charis production God with Us. She has since gone on to be a part of many theatrical performances at Charis. Jamie has been married to Andrew for nearly fifty years. They have two sons and a beautiful granddaughter.

Billy Epperhart is a successful business entrepreneur and a nationally known speaker and author whose passion is guiding others into sustainable financial freedom. His two nonprofits, WealthBuilders and Tricord Global, provide financial education for kingdom impact. As a CEO and founder of his own real estate company, he owned and supervised a multi-million dollar real estate portfolio located in five different real estate markets. When he’s not busy writing for his blog, running his three businesses, or teaching at Charis Bible College, Billy enjoys fly-fishing and traveling around the world with his wife, Becky.

Mike Pickett was a missionary in Russia for eleven years before meeting his wife, Carrie, and encountering Charis Bible College for the first time. After having his life transformed by the message of God’s love and grace, Mike became an instructor in the school and eventually the director of Andrew Wommack Ministries Russia. In 2015, Mike and his wife returned to the United States, and Mike now serves as the vice president of Charis Bible College and International Operations of Andrew Wommack Ministries. He is deeply honored to be part of a ministry that is so active in training and discipling nations.

Carrie Pickett has been a believer for over thirty years and has a passion for teaching God’s Word. After graduating from Charis Bible College in 1999, she moved to Russia to plant a Charis campus. While in Russia, Carrie met her husband, Mike. Together they grew the Russian ministry to reach over ten Russian-speaking nations. After sixteen years in Russia, Carrie and Mike relocated to Colorado, where Carrie now serves as the assistant vice president of Charis Bible College and International Operations of Andrew Wommack Ministries. She also serves as director of Charis Bible College Woodland Park and the director of the Global Training School. She has a heart to reach the world with the grace message and to see powerful ministers raised up with a Great Commission vision.

Wendell Parr

Ministry Ambassador

Wendell Parr travels to minister to students and staff of Charis Bible College campuses around the globe. Sharing from over forty years of experience in ministry, Wendell opens up his life as he teaches some of the most fundamental truths of the Christian faith. As a former pastor and current teacher of the Word, he breaks down the Scripture in order to give students a vantage point from which to advance in their walk with Christ. With classes such as Holy Spirit, Old Testament Survey, and Foundational Principles, Wendell equips students with a better understanding of the Word and how to interpret it. Wendell and his wife, Linda, have two children, one granddaughter, and two great grandchildren.

Barry Bennett

Barry Bennett, a graduate of Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas, has been serving the Lord since 1972. He and his wife, Betty Kay, have served on the mission field in Mexico, Guatemala, and in Chile, where they spent almost twelve years before returning to Texas in 2001. Barry came to Andrew Wommack Ministries in 2007 and worked as a prayer minister before accepting a position answering the scriptural and doctrinal questions that would come to the ministry via mail and email. He later went on to be the dean of students, and now he is the senior instructor at Charis Bible College Woodland Park, where his passion for teaching practical biblical truths ignites faith.

 

Greg Mohr

Executive Director of the Association of Related Ministries International (A.R.M.I.) and Post Education Development & Director of Ministry School


Greg Mohr is a conference speaker and author of several books. He is known for being an instructor who shares from his heart, teaching several core classes at Charis such as Operating in God’s Best, Prosperity God’s Way, and The Fruit of the Spirit. Previously, Greg served as senior pastor of River of Life Church in Decatur, Texas, for twenty-four years. He is a graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and has earned a master’s degree in leadership from Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, Oklahoma. Greg is married to his best friend, Janice. Together they have four children and twelve grandchildren.

Daniel Bennett grew up on the mission field and has had a heart for ministry as long as he can remember. After some time in the Air Force and doing missions work in Nicaragua, he graduated from Charis in 2009. After that, he volunteered at multiple Charis campuses, and he has been on staff in Colorado since 2014. He and his wife, Ashley, and two children (with a third on the way) live in Colorado Springs and love being part of a ministry that is changing lives around the world!

Greg Macy

Greg Macy

Executive Director of Distance Education

Greg Macy earned his engineering degree from University of Illinois and developed new products and manufacturing systems in the consumer and medical product industries for over 20 years. During this time, he and his wife, Citlalli, came to the Lord, and in 2005 they responded to God’s call to attend Charis Bible College. Greg graduated from Charis in 2008 and completed the intern program a year later. He is excited to do all he can to spread the great news of God’s love and grace so others can be set free and empowered through their relationship with God. Greg and Citlalli have three fantastic children.

John Essy

John Essy

Director of International Operations

John Essy recognized the call of ministry on his life and enrolled in Charis Bible College. Since graduating in 1999, he has worked in the local church in multiple capacities including elder, associate pastor, children’s pastor, worship leader, and Sunday school instructor. In 2012 he and his wife Leslie planted a church in Pennsylvania, and he was the senior pastor there for seven years. He has preached the Gospel throughout the world, traveling to Russia, Mexico, Kazakhstan, Zambia, and more. John and Leslie have been married for over thirty years and have raised three wonderful children.

Deanne Gissel

World Outreach Stateside Lead Regional Director

Deanne Gissel was born in Iowa but has been living in Arizona since 1985. Her first job in ministry was directing Life Academy Christian School, and then she and her husband, Tim, served as youth pastors for Living Word Bible Church in Scottsdale, Arizona. Deanne is a graduate of Charis Bible College and has been teaching around the world for over ten years. She has taught in remote villages, pastors’ summits, public high schools, and a variety of churches. She is passionate about seeing people experience godly marriages. She and Tim have four children.

Stacey Perry

Stacey Perry was born and raised in the Chicago area and graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor’s in business management. She graduated from Charis Bible College in Colorado in 2016 and completed third-year Ministry School. At Charis, Stacey discovered what matters most: building God’s kingdom. Charis provided Stacey with an environment to separate herself from the world and learn who God is and how He sees her. The teachings she heard and the relationships she built at Charis helped set the trajectory for the rest of her life.

Rick McFarland

Rick McFarland

Dean of Faculty

Rick McFarland graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing in 1991. He then graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in 1993. He also attended and graduated from the School of the Local Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1996. Rick was a singles pastor at Grace Church for sixteen years and moved to Colorado in 2011 to attend Charis Bible College with his wife, Joann. Rick is the senior pastor of River Rock Church in Colorado Springs and teaches several core classes at Charis including Principles of Grace and Faith and How to Study the Bible.

Tannera Garvin

Dean of Education


Tannera Garvin served as a missionary for five years in Mexico and Romania, and has done mission work in Uganda, Cuba, Hungary, and Germany. On the field, in between serving youth and teaching English, Tannera completed her first year of Charis through the online program. She finished Charis in Colorado and graduated third year Media School in 2013. Since then, she has served the ministry in Communication Services, World Outreach, the Global Training School, and now the education department. Tannera’s time at Charis has revolutionized her relationship with the Lord, and she loves to help students unleash their potential.

 

Mark Buitendag

Dean of Students

Mark Buitendag was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. While living in London, Mark got hooked on Andrew’s teachings and went to a Gospel Truth Conference where he made the life-changing decision to receive the Holy Spirit. Mark went on to graduate from Charis Jacksonville in 2013 and has been serving the Colorado campus since 2019. Mark’s heart is for students to be transformed by the love of God. He is passionate about healing, prophetic ministry, and anything God wants him to do. He enjoys motorcycles and spending time with his wife, Claire, and their son, Zacary.

Jackie Francis

Jackie Francis

Dean of Admissions

Jackie Francis and her husband Rob moved their family to Colorado in 2011 to attend Charis Bible College and build a firm foundation on God’s Word. After graduating from third year Ministry School in 2014, she worked as the assistant admission coordinator and later as café manager. As the Dean of Admissions, she is thrilled to play a part in leading students to transformation through identity in Christ. Before starting their family, Jackie served the U.S. Army in supply management and logistics for six years. Jackie and Rob have been married for more than twenty years and have three amazing children.

Education Operations Manager

Scott Swanson grew up in Michigan and graduated from Charis Bible College in 2019 and third year Ministry School in 2020. He was promoted several times in AWM communication services before accepting his current role serving the education department. He has a passion for teaching the Word of God and a desire to see believers grow in their understanding of God’s love and grace and their identity in Christ. In his free time, Scott likes to study the Word, take road trips, go hiking, and enjoy the outdoors with his wife, Israel.

Claire Buitendag came to the U.S. in 2010 and spent the following nine years working at Charis Florida where she assisted with administration, events, and everything else that goes into running five of the six satellite campuses in Florida. She graduated from Charis Jacksonville in 2017. Claire, her husband Mark, and their teenage son Zac arrived in Woodland Park in July 2019 after feeling God call them to Colorado. Claire feels grateful to live and work in such a beautiful part of the world, helping to raise up disciples of Christ and spread the Good News.

Ricky Burge

Ricky Burge

Hybrid School Coordinator

Ricky Burge grew up in Gary, Indiana, and gave his life to Christ just before his twenty-first birthday. Upon graduating from third year Ministry School in 2014, Ricky worked with DEMO in Uganda where He spent five years traveling to remote villages, living with the natives, leading them to Christ, and establishing Discipleship Evangelism in their areas. In 2019, he took over the Uganda Charis and AWM office, reorganizing them to align with the ministry’s mission. He is passionate about the Word and leads with a fearless approach to life.

Daniel Amstutz

Director of Charis Worship, Worship Arts School & Healing School

Daniel Amstutz is a seasoned, ordained minister and a published songwriter and recording artist. He holds a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance from the University of Colorado and a bachelor of theology degree from Christian Life School of Theology. Daniel is the president of Daniel Amstutz Collective, Inc., a non-profit that connects generations in spirit and truth. He is an incredible teacher who loves to help people live set free through the Word of God and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Daniel and his wife, Tracy, have been married for over forty years and have two children and seven grandchildren.

Paul Milligan

Director of Business School

Paul Milligan boasts over forty years of experience in the corporate world and twenty-eight years spent building his own companies. Paul is the Chairman of the Board of Solaris Healthcare, Inc., and has been a member of the board of directors of Andrew Wommack Ministries since 2003. In January 2004, he began a worldwide teaching ministry to the body of Christ, primarily in the areas of business and personal financial stewardship. Paul has taught in churches, Bible colleges, and organizations all over the U.S. and in many foreign countries. Paul and his wife Patsy have been married for over forty-five years and have three children and nine grandchildren.

Robert Muren

Director of Film and Production School

Robert Muren met his wife, Elizabeth, while teaching at a school in Norway. After marrying, they quit their jobs and moved to Jerusalem in 1999. For the next decade, they traveled in thirteen countries with a drama called The Covenant, using song, music, and dance to tell the story of God’s love for His people. It was in October of 2012 that friends in Norway introduced Robert and Elizabeth Muren to the teachings of Andrew Wommack. They knew at once that the message of grace and unconditional love would change not only their lives but also the lives of many who would watch their stage and movie productions. Shortly thereafter, Elizabeth contacted Andrew for his feedback on their screenplay, and they were invited to perform God with Us at Charis Bible College. The Murens have been performing their musicals with Andrew Wommack Ministries and Charis since 2014. Their four children all have roles in God With Us.

Stephen Bransford

Director of Media School and TV & Media Production

Stephen Bransford is an award-winning storyteller, published novelist, and ghost writer. He attended Bethany Bible College and graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in English. He has been working in television since the 1970s and has served Andrew Wommack Ministries media productions since 1999. He is also a fundraising specialist, having helped an array of clients including Oral Roberts, Billy Graham, and Boy Scouts of America. Stephen believes exploring one’s personal story is the key to spiritual transformation, and he is thrilled to help people discover the joy of living in their own skin.

Mark Cowart is the senior pastor of Church For All Nations, a multi-site church in Colorado Springs. With the mission of empowering locally, sending globally, and reaping eternally, Pastor Mark seeks to fulfill Matthew 28:18–20: “Go then and make disciples of all nations.” He also has a deep and fervent love for the U.S. and recognizes the urgency and responsibility of the local pastor to preserve and protect the moral fiber of our country and work to restore its godly foundations.

Roger Williams

Ministry School Coordinator

Roger Williams was trained by Kenneth E. Hagin and the instructors of Rhema Bible College and graduated in 1994. Roger has used his teaching gift to serve in many ministry roles before being called to attend Charis Bible College. In Colorado, he has served as a telephone prayer minister, Charis Bible Studies coordinator, alumni supervisor, and instructor. Roger’s passion is sharing our Father’s Word in love and making the Gospel simple for the hearers so that it is easily understood and acted upon.

Liya Titov

Global Training School Coordinator

Liya Titov was born in Ukraine and moved to the United States in 1993. She holds a business management degree from the University of Missouri. In her mid-thirties she had a miraculous encounter with the Lord, and she rededicated her life to God. She experienced amazing, effortless change, which led her to attend Charis Bible College in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2014. In 2018 Liya married Dmitriy, and they moved to Colorado to attend Global Training School together. She is a gifted administrator with a heart to make disciples and raise up missionaries who will travel the world to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Worship Arts School Coordinator

Angela Lee was born and raised in Kansas City and has one adult son. She graduated from Charis Bible College in Kansas City, Missouri, in 2007. She has been part of worship ministry leadership for twenty years. At her local church in Kansas City, she served on staff as an administrative assistant, which involved coordinating conferences and planning services. As an ordained minister, she is happy to serve where she is needed and finds fulfillment in encouraging and equipping others in their gifts.

Josue Ibarra is originally from Arizona but now resides in Colorado, where he graduated from Charis Bible College Ministry and Business schools. He has been serving Andrew Wommack Ministries since 2015, first as a prayer minister, then moving on to a customer service trainer and shift lead. He is the host and founder of The Heavy Revy Show podcast and oversees the health of the ministries at Freedom Church CO. Josue Ibarra is devoted to discipling and empowering people and helping them grow in their leadership skills.

Matt Owen

Matt Owen graduated with a degree in theater from Ball State University in Indiana before moving to California to pursue acting. In Los Angeles, he met his wife, Candice, who introduced him to Andrew’s teachings. God called them to Charis Bible College in Colorado where they graduated in 2014. Together Matt and Candice found the destiny for their lives to preach the Gospel through arts and entertainment. Matt began teaching adjunct for the Creative Arts School as well as floor directing for all conferences and events. He encourages students to find themselves in the Word first, and then the Holy Spirit will fulfill the desires of your heart.

Tim Swartz graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a master’s of education in instructional systems design and a bachelor of fine arts. For twenty-five years, he served as an award-winning executive producer, director, and cinematographer at Penn State Public Broadcasting. He is also the founder, president, and director of Children’s Ministry Workshop in Colorado, which produces multimedia projects that disciple children throughout the world with a biblical worldview. Tim taught for fourteen years in the film-video department of the Pennsylvania State University’s College of Communications and at Ryerson University in Toronto.

David Riffel

Practical Government School Coordinator

David Riffel was a Chiropractor in Michigan for forty-four years. During his forty-second year of practice, Dave read Andrew Wommack’s God Wants You Well, discovered his authority, and began to ask patients if he could pray for their physical healing. Of over 700 patients he asked, none refused his offer! Many healings resulted and as an unexpected side-effect, 139 patients chose to be born again. Dave and his wife, Marian, decided to retire and move to Colorado to attend Charis Bible College. They graduated in 2016 and Dave graduated from Practical Government School in 2017. Dave and Marian have been married for over fifty years and are enthusiastically serving God through each door that He has opened for them.

Kim Koller grew up in a military family and lived in Colorado, Germany, Georgia, Iowa, and Nebraska. After she and her husband, Bill, graduated from Charis Bible College in 2006, she completed Business and Practical Government schools. Her passion for supporting godly candidates in office has led her to serve on a national presidential campaign, state governor campaigns, and local campaigns. She serves as El Paso County’s vice chair of house district 15 and has worked with Faith & Freedom Coalition. Kimberly is excited about helping students find their place in government. She and Bill have two children and seven grandchildren—she spoils them all and loves hosting big family gatherings.

Tony Cooke Ministries

Tony Cooke is a Bible teacher and the author of a dozen books. In 1981, he graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center, where he later served as an instructor and dean. He received a bachelor’s in church ministries from North Central University and a master’s in theological studies and church history from Liberty University. Tony’s passion for teaching the Bible has taken him to more than thirty nations and nearly all fifty states. Tony and his wife, Lisa, reside in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and are the parents of two adult children.

Dan Funkhouser graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in 1978 and earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Bible theology from the International Bible Institute and Seminary. In the 1980s, Dan ministered in many crusades and Bible colleges in Central and South America, and he has helped pioneer many new churches. Today, Dan is the director of Heartbeat International Ministries and has found tremendous favor in Latin and South American countries. Dan and his wife, Penny, lead Heartbeat Church in Colorado Springs. They have two daughters, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Dean Hawk is one of the nation’s most creative and contagious communicators. He has served in full-time ministry since 1981 and spent twenty-three years ministering to teenagers. In 2004, he and his wife, Kim, planted Rock Family Church in Colorado Springs where they are currently lead pastors. He is passionate about equipping believers and future ministers with the practical tools to serve in the local church. He served as a Bible college instructor for five years at Rhema Bible Training Center in Oklahoma. Dean and Kim have been married since 1983 and have three adult children.

Scott Hinkle Outreach Ministries

Scott Hinkle, an author, ordained minister, and evangelist, graduated from Christ for the Nations Institute. He and his wife Nancy founded Scott Hinkle Outreach Ministries in 1981 and have had the privilege of ministering together in outreaches, crusades, and conferences nationally and abroad. They lead an annual evangelistic invasion of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. He is known for his practical, challenging, and sometimes humorous Bible-based messages.

Beth Landt, a fifth generation Colorado native, studied at the University of Colorado and graduated from Charis Bible College in 2008. Beth and her husband Jay are coaches at Adventures in Missions, an organization that raises up world changers by enabling them on the mission field. She is a board member with Redeeming Love Ministries, an organization dedicated to transforming the Democratic Republic of Congo. She was ordained by Andrew Wommack in 2012 and has served Charis Bible College as the Registrar, Dean of Women, and most recently as an adjunct instructor. She is passionate about seeing people set free to love others with God’s unfailing love.

Alex McFarland

Alex McFarland Evangelistic Ministries

Alex McFarland is a Christian apologist, author, evangelist, religion and culture analyst, and advocate for biblical truth. He has preached the Gospel and presented apologetics training throughout all fifty U.S. states and internationally, and he is a frequent spokesperson on Fox News and other media outlets. His greatest passion is growing the body of Christ and instructing Christians on how to stand strong in the face of ever-diminishing ethics and values. At Charis Bible College, Alex teaches courses on apologetics, biblical worldview, God and government, and speech and debate.

Arthur Meintjes has a lively, heartfelt teaching style that infuses students with God’s desire to build up and bring restoration to people. He teaches the grace of God in a practical way that highlights the dignity and value of the individual. Some of his classes include Practical Skills for Godly Relationships, The Heart “Essence” of the Gospel, and Let Freedom Reign. Arthur and his wife, Cathy, travel the world preaching the Gospel with Kingdom Life Ministries. Originally from South Africa, Arthur trained at Christ for the Nations in Dallas, Texas. He and Cathy now reside in Colorado.

Lawson Perdue was Spirit-filled and called to preach in 1978 through the ministry of Andrew Wommack. He challenges his students to break out of the mold, emphasizing abundant life and identity in Jesus Christ. Lawson’s passion and zeal for the Word of God inspire his students to go above and beyond the norm to live the life Christ has provided. Lawson and his wife, Barbara, have been in full-time ministry for over thirty years and are the senior pastors of Charis Christian Center in Colorado Springs.

Curtis Phillips joined the U.S. Navy after graduating from Oklahoma State University. He was commissioned as an officer, became a naval aviator, and served as a pilot and staff officer. He earned a master’s in national security from the Naval War College and retired from active duty in 2010 with the rank of captain. Curtis and his wife, Lorie, moved to Colorado Springs to attend Charis Bible College. Together they have five children and have served as marriage and family counselors. Their ministry is building strong families one marriage at a time.

Duane Sheriff is the senior pastor of Victory Life Church, a multi-campus church headquartered in Durant, Oklahoma. Pastor Duane is an author and speaker who travels around the world speaking at conferences and churches. He is gifted with an anointing to communicate the simplicity of the Gospel. He believes a personal and intimate relationship with the Lord is essential for every believer. God has given Pastor Duane an abundance of divine revelation, which pours forth as he shares and ministers the Word. His personal presentation of the Gospel resurrects hope and ignites faith.

Dr. Delron Shirley is founder and president of Teach All Nations Mission, an evangelical educational ministry. He served for twenty-five years as dean of World Harvest Bible College and Indiana Christian University and presently serves as a consultant for Every Home for Christ in their discipleship department. Delron and his wife, Peggy, are strongly committed to inspiring others to go beyond their borders to share the Good News; thus, they lead several mission trips each year to introduce teams of students to life on the mission field.

Carlie Terradez is an international speaker, author, wife, and mother of three. Born and raised in the United Kingdom, her family immigrated to the United States after she and her husband, Ashley, graduated from Charis Bible College in 2008. Shortly after her ordination by Andrew Wommack, she became the co-founder of Terradez Ministries, a practical teaching ministry dedicated to empowering believers to walk in God’s power and promises. Having been supernaturally healed from numerous life-threatening conditions, her life is a testimony to the miraculous power of God. Carlie is passionate about helping people receive healing and access all that Jesus has provided.

Dr. Jerry Williamson was ordained in 1982 and served as a missionary in Ecuador through the missions sending agency Go To Nations in 1985. Appointed president of GTN in 2000, he has dedicated his life to the advancement of the kingdom of God. Dr. Jerry and his wife, Beverly, travel extensively to help missionaries and national leaders maximize their missions efforts by providing Bible teaching and preaching, ministry planning, leadership training tools, and counseling. Dr. Jerry is a true servant-leader, advancing GTN from a place of prevailing prayer.

He pastored Grace Fellowship in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for thirty-three years where he raised up and sent out hundreds of ministers to churches and missions organizations around the world. Known as an expositor of the Bible, he is widely acknowledged as one of the most knowledgeable teachers of this generation. Bob is a graduate of Trinity Bible College and has served as an instructor and dean of instructors at Rhema Bible Training Center. Bob and his wife, Loretta, have two children and five grandchildren.
