What Do You Do for Comfort?

What comforts you?

That’s a question that can be answered in so many ways. For some, it’s a warm bath; for other’s it’s a massage, and still for others, a home-cooked meal.

As believers, we have the greatest source of comfort EVER!

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.“ —John 14:16

Jesus said God would give us another Comforter if He went away, speaking of the Holy Spirit. And He said that this Comforter would be with us FOREVER! No matter what kind of comfort we need—strength, encouragement, hope—we always have it.

That is true comfort without all the calories!

For us to access this comfort, we need to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Even Jesus didn’t begin His ministry until the Holy Spirit came upon Him. He told His disciples:

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…” —Acts 1:8

The baptism in the Holy Spirit makes God’s power available to you, and you access it by faith. It’s through the Holy Spirit we see miracles and healings. He guides us into all truth and shows us things to come (John 16:13) as well.

While the Baptism in the Holy Spirit won’t make you immediately victorious in every area of your life, you will begin to experience victory more and more as you access that power. That’s amazing!

Some may ask, “Do I have to have the Baptism of the Holy Spirit to go to heaven?”

The answer to that is no, but why would you want to wait until you get to heaven for things to get better? You can access the same power that raised Christ from the dead right now—in this life!

To receive this power, all you have to do is ask.

“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” —Luke 11:13

Just ask your loving, heavenly Father, and He will give it to you. That’s so much better than any comfort the world has to offer!
