1ST YEAR - BIBLE TRAINING

Charis Bible College believes in the importance of academics, but those who are going into the ministry must know how to minister! We strive for a balance between knowledge of Scripture and practical ministry experiences. The first-year is offered in both Day and Night School sessions. Day School runs from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, Mon.-Fri. Night School runs from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m., Mon.-Fri.

StudentFirst-year courses include Relationship with God, Basics of Righteousness, Receiving from God, and Old Testament Survey to name a few. The curriculum was designed to give students a solid biblical foundation with an emphasis on faith, grace and walking with the Holy Ghost through the work of the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In addition to classes, first-year students are required to volunteer 25 hours each term (3 months) in practical ministry either in a local church, Andrew Wommack Ministries, Charis Bible College, or other CBC-approved ministries. There are many opportunities to serve depending on your interests, talents, and availability. Colorado Springs is home to over a hundred ministries that provide great opportunities for learning!

Upon completion of the first-year program, students receive a Certificate of Completion and are eligible to enter the second-year Practical Ministry Training at Charis Bible College. Apply to begin your training!

2ND YEAR - Practical Ministry TRAINING

Where the first year sets your foundation in the Word, the second year builds upon it with courses aimed at teaching you to share what you have learned with the world! The emphasis is on learning by doing. The second-year is offered in both Day and Night School sessions. Day School runs from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, Mon.-Fri. Night School runs from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m., Mon.-Fri.

Second-year courses such as New Testament Survey, Ministry of Excellence, Discipleship Evangelism, and Making of a Minister further progress your training. In addition to regular classes, students also engage in Inter-Action Groups (IAGs) – small workshops designed to help you fine tune and practice skills such as public speaking, preparing teachings, prayer, etc.

Missions

All second-year students are required to go on a CBC planned mission trip as part of their requirements for graduation. We believe that mission trips are a valuable part of ministry training. Students learn how to function as a team in a foreign culture and unfamiliar surroundings, as well as, how to share the Gospel and communicate through an interpreter. These are life-changing trips. Even if you don’t plan to minister on foreign fields, these trips will expand your world vision and grant you insight to help those who are called to missions.

CBC mission trips are typically between 7-10 days in length. Trips are scheduled throughout the school year and require students to minister through teaching, evangelism, prayer, and drama to both adults and children of different nations. Locations change from year to year based upon hosts and scheduling restrictions. Previous locations have included: England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Germany, Russia, India, Thailand, Uganda, Kenya, Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Belize, the Dominican Republic, Argentina and Ecuador.

Mission trips are financed through school supported fund raisers that students organize throughout the year. Each student has the opportunity to earn “Mission Points” towards their trip. Any balance between the cost of a student’s trip and the “points” they have accrued will need to be paid by the student by a pre-determined date before they can graduate at the end of their second-year.

Upon successfully completing the second-year program, students will receive a degree in Biblical Studies and a Ministerial License issued by the State of Colorado.

Students may apply for ordination from Andrew Wommack Ministries six months after graduation. For many students, this will fulfill their educational goals, but for those called to full-time ministry they continue on to our third-year Ministry Training.

3RD YEAR - MINISTRY TRAINING

Student speaking with Andrew WommackThe third-year Ministry Training is for students called into five-fold ministry positions of apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers and evangelists, as well as, those called to the ministry of helps and worship.

The Ministry Training Program provides specialized training in the school of your choice for the first two hours of each school day; the last two hours of class time, all third-year students will come together for general ministry training. The third-year program is offered during Day School hours only, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, Mon.-Fri. It is not currently available at Night School.
