4 Keys to Embracing Your Uniqueness
When I think of the beauty and absolute awesomeness of this world—all the colors, landscapes, animals, oceans, and the list goes on, it amazes me that God made all this for me.
He made it for you, for all of us.
It’s even more amazing to me that we are all created in His image, yet no two of us are alike. We are unique. Even identical twins are not identical. They have unique personalities and fingerprints.
It saddens me to think of those who believe that they are useless or unimportant. Some even think the world would be better off without them. Nothing is further from the truth! In fact it’s an out-and-out lie of the enemy!
“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. —Psalms 139:14-16
David was in awe of God’s handiwork in making him, and we should be too!
If you find yourself thinking that you’re nothing special, here are some things to remember:
- You are one in 7,577,130,400! That’s 7.57 BILLION! There’s no one else on this planet like you. No one walks like you, talks like you, or has the gifts and talents you have.
- You were not an accident. Whether your parents planned for you or not, even if they didn’t want you, God planned and wanted you. He created you with love and relationship with Him in mind. And God don’t make no junk!
- Without you, the world is missing something. In the psalm above, David made it clear that God had a plan for him even before he was born. It’s the same for you—no one can fulfill or take your place in God’s design and plan for this world. Not only do you have a part to supply in the body of Christ, there are people you will touch and affect who might never see Jesus without you.
- God loves and accepts you just the way you are—right now. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or haven’t done. Right now, you are loved and accepted by the One who made you. He knew every mistake and every sin you and I would commit, and He made us anyway, just so He could have a loving relationship with us.
Wow! That’s a Selah moment.
You know, there’s no one like our God, and there’s no one else anywhere in the world like you!
