You Don’t Have to Die Sick!
Based on a Charis Minute with Daniel Amstutz
I think that's stupid. Do you know why? Because surely goodness and mercy are going to follow me all the days of my life (Ps. 23:6)!
We don't have to fear our future. God has plans for you and for me, and all of His plans are GOOD.
I can't tell you how often it is that I talk to people who are literally afraid of some horrible sickness or disease coming on their bodies as they get older. I've even spoken with young people in the Bible College who don't want to get old because they've seen someone in their family who became sicker and sicker as they got older.
I'm not going to have to get sick to die, and you don’t have to either! I'm going to be renewed in my inward man even though my outward man is perishing.
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. —2 Corinthians 4:16
I'll just eventfully get so old, I'll just move to heaven like my father.
My father just graduated and moved to heaven last year. What a graduation party that was! He was almost 97-years-old. He finally just got so old that I said, "Dad, you're really ready to go be with Jesus, aren't you?"
He said, "Man, it can't happen fast enough!"
You can rest assured that the Word of God is true. You can stand on 2 Corinthians 4:16 and Isaiah 40:31, which says:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
