So, You Want to Be Rich?
There are many people that are considered rich in the world system. They may be millionaires on paper, but they don't have anything to give.
Everything is invested or leveraged. They have a huge house, a nice car, lots of jewels, and fancy clothes. And they think that this is rich.
But what is God’s definition of prosperity?
The real purpose of prosperity isn't so that we can consume it upon ourselves. It's so we can be a blessing. God blesses us is to be a blessing.
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. —2 Corinthians 9:8
Think about that—EVERY GOOD WORK. That’s a heck of a lot of good!
Some people might say, "Well, if you did that, you'd never have anything."
But God also said that when you give, “it will be given unto you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom" (Luke 6:38). So it's just the opposite of what you might think.
You might say, “Well, that sounds like giving to get!”
But did you know that we, as believers, already have everything? We don’t have to DO anything to get something from God. We already have everything that Jesus paid for on the cross—including prosperity!
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. —2 Corinthians 8:9
We don’t have to live in fear that if we give, we won’t have anything left. Jesus made us rich! And when we give, it multiplies.
When we get a revelation of ‘living to give’ instead of ‘giving to live’, God blesses us so much that we don’t have room enough to receive!
