3 Reasons the Gospel Is Cancer's Worst Enemy
I heard an advertisement on the radio, and it said, "We are cancer's worst enemy." Then it began to advertise a medical treatment.
That's not true. The gospel is cancer's worst enemy. The truth is cancer's worst enemy. And as believers, we are cancer’s worst enemy, and we need to advertise it!
Here are 3 reasons believers, armed with the gospel, are cancer’s worst enemy:
- God heals ALL our diseases — Psalm 103:2-3 says, “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.” That includes cancer!
- Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law — The curses of the law are listed in Deuteronomy 28:16-61. Verse 61 says, “Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law,” which includes cancer. Galatians 3:13 says, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law ….” On the cross, Jesus took care of all the curses of the law, including cancer!
- Jesus took stripes so we could be healed — Isaiah 53:5 tells us, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” And in the New Testament, 1 Peter 2:24 takes it a step further and makes it past tense —“by whose stripes ye were healed.”
The tag line at the end of that radio advertisement was "We're trying to make cancer history."
As believers, that should be our tag line. When we truly get the revelation that Jesus defeated cancer and every other disease and begin to advertise it, we can be cancer’s worst enemy.
We can make cancer history!
