You Haven’t Missed the Boat!
“I think it's amazing! We've only been here a few weeks, and already I have these amazing revelations from God. It's already transforming my life!”
—Danielle, First Year Student
"I was just looking forward to sitting under the Lord, four hours a day and sharpening my ‘sword.’ It's awesome. It's everything I hoped it would be!”
—Joshua, First Year Student
In Matthew 14, Jesus told His disciples to get in the boat, and go to the other side. A great storm arose, and Jesus came to them, walking on the water, and they were afraid. They thought it was a ghost!
“But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, ‘Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.’ And Peter answered him and said, ‘Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.’ And he said, ‘Come.’ And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.”
This is an amazing account of fear, then obedience, and then the miraculous.
When God gives us direction, and we don’t see how it can be done in the natural, fear can arise. But as soon as Peter obeyed Jesus’ instruction to “come,” the miraculous happened—he walked on water!
Each year, we hear the testimonies of students who were afraid to obey God’s direction to come to Charis, and it’s always the same—as soon as they obeyed, the Lord did the miraculous! They had to actually ‘get in the boat and come,’ but God was faithful to provide, and their lives have never been the same.
Feel like you may have missed it? If God has spoken to you or there is a deep desire in your heart to attend Charis, you haven’t missed the boat…
